In home care services St. Lucie West families trust for everyday help, safety, and companionship at home. Hummingbird caregivers support older adults across St. Lucie West with personal care, memory support, respite, 24-hour coverage, veteran assistance, and palliative comfort care.
In home care services St. Lucie West families arrange are designed to answer a simple goal: help a parent or spouse keep living in the home they love, safely and on their own terms. Hummingbird Care Services provides non-medical care that fills the gaps in a day, such as help showering and dressing, steady support walking from room to room, meals that actually get eaten, medication reminders, laundry, errands, and rides to appointments.
St. Lucie West grew up as one of Port St. Lucie’s first large planned communities, and many of the people who bought homes here in the 1990s and early 2000s are now in their seventies and eighties. They know their neighbors, their golf partners, and the restaurants along St. Lucie West Boulevard. Home care lets them keep that life going even when driving, balance, or memory begins to change.
Every family’s starting point is different. Some need a few hours on bathing days. Some need a caregiver every afternoon so a husband with early dementia is never alone while his wife runs errands. Others need full 24 hour in home care in St. Lucie West after a fall or a hospital stay. We design the schedule around the real need, then adjust it as things change.
It all begins with a free in-home consultation. A Hummingbird director visits your loved one, learns their routine and preferences, looks at the home for safety concerns, and talks through options and costs with the family. You can also review how we serve the wider area on our St. Lucie County home care page.
Every Hummingbird service is available throughout St. Lucie West, from a few hours each week to around-the-clock care, and it can change as needs change.
Hummingbird Care Services is a locally owned Treasure Coast agency, not a franchise branch reporting to a corporate office in another state. Our owners and directors live and work here, and they stay directly involved in how care is planned and delivered for families in St. Lucie West and across Port St. Lucie.
For families, that means faster answers and fewer handoffs. When you call, you are likely to reach someone who knows your parent’s caregiver by name. When a schedule needs to change for a specialist appointment or a visiting grandchild, the change is handled by people who can see the whole picture.
We are licensed by the State of Florida as a home health agency (license #299995921), fully insured, and audited for compliance with state rules. Caregivers complete Level 2 background checks, drug screening, and dementia training before they are matched with a family.
Many St. Lucie West residents have adult children who live up north or in other parts of Florida. In home care services St. Lucie West parents receive from Hummingbird include keeping those children in the loop with clear updates, so distance does not mean being left in the dark.
Our caregivers support families throughout St. Lucie West, including the neighborhoods off St. Lucie West Boulevard and Peacock Boulevard, the golf and gated communities that line the area’s lakes and fairways, and the homes close to Clover Park and the I-95 interchange. Caregivers are used to gate codes, visitor passes, and community rules, and we note them during the consultation.
St. Lucie West also connects naturally to the rest of Port St. Lucie. We serve nearby Tradition to the south, the wider city east of I-95, and communities across the county. If your family is spread between neighborhoods, we coordinate care and updates so everyone stays informed. Our Port St. Lucie home care page covers the rest of the city.
Medical care is close by, with HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital, and a number of specialist offices along Peacock Boulevard. Many families call us before a planned surgery or discharge so a caregiver can be ready on the first day home, which is when falls and missed medications are most likely.
Families comparing in home care services St. Lucie West neighbors recommend often ask about consistency. We keep a small, steady team assigned to each client so your loved one sees familiar faces, and so every caregiver knows the routine before they walk in the door.

This company is EXCELLENT! I had an unexpected need for 24/7 home health aids for my 85 year old mom (after she went through an emergency appendectomy) during this past Labor Day holiday weekend, and Hummingbird came through! Within hours of my first call to Victoria late Friday afternoon, she had someone at my mom's apartment in assisted living in Stuart, and Victoria worked tirelessly throughout the entire holiday weekend to line up someone for every shift (day and night) all the way til 8pm on Labor Day Monday. And I was able to communicate with each of the 5 caregivers throughout their shifts directly by text, which was SO valuable and comforting. With the help of these ladies, my mom was able to get back on her feet and resume her routine. I would use this company again and absolutely recommend them. They will be the first company I call if a need arises in the future (and did I mention that this was at the last minute during a HOLIDAY weekend?!)![]()

Hummingbird Care Services has been extremely helpful and caring in assisting me in finding just the right caregivers for my elderly mother. They matched me with caregivers that were skilled, kind, patient and were a perfect fit for my mother and our family. By doing so, they went above and beyond to help us at a time when we needed it most. I will always be grateful to them for making a difficult situation a lot easier for us. I rate them the best of the best.![]()
